West Milwaukee is a village in the Milwaukee metropolitan area in the US state of Wisconsin . At the 2000 census, the population was 4,201. It is a settlement predominantly inhabited by citizens of the lower middle class, the so-called blue-collar workers in the USA .

Neighboring cities to West Milwaukee are Milwaukee to the north, east and southeast, West Allis to the west and Greenfield to the south. The settlement area of West Milwaukee merges seamlessly with each other.

According to the United States Census Bureau , the parish has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.9 km²), all land area. According to the 2000 census, there were 4,201 residents, 2,059 households, and 891 families in the parish. The population density was 1,435.4 / km². The 2,197 residential units had an average population density of 750.7 / km². The ethnic composition of the place consisted of 83.58% white, 3.50% African American , 1.55% American Indian , 2.55% Asian , 0.07% Pacific Islander (Hawaiian etc.), 5.86% others Origin, 2.90% stated two or more races as origin.
