Who's Who in Animal Land is an American part animated short film by Lou Lilly from the year 1944 .

action

The film shows elephants, monkeys, foxes, bison and chinchillas, among others, telling jokes or singing songs in the style of a newsreel. A giraffe is asked how the weather is upstairs and replies that the inquirer can drop by her upstairs. A cow sings the song Cow Cow Boogie at the end . The plot is accompanied by Ken Carpenter as narrator.

Who's Who in Animal Land appeared as part of the popular Speaking of Animals short film series . Recordings of animals were provided with separately filmed mouths by rotoscopy and thus made to "speak". The film was released on December 27, 1944. Other parts of the series, which ran from 1941 to 1949, were for example the Oscar-nominated short film Down on the Farm and the Oscar-winning film Speaking of Animals and Their Families .

Awards

Who's Who in Animal Land was awarded an Oscar in 1945 in the category " Best Short Film (One Film Role) ".
