Nordenstadt is a district of the Hessian state capital Wiesbaden .
geography
The four Wiesbaden districts Igstadt , Erbenheim , Breckenheim and Delkenheim , as well as Wallau (city of Hofheim am Taunus ) border on Nordenstadt.
history
Nordenstadt was first mentioned as a Nornestadt in 950 , when King Otto I gave his son's vassal, Count Gerung, six Hufen land in the districts of Wallau , Breckenheim and Nordenstadt.
Up until the 1930s there were 15 Jewish families in Nordenstadt, some of whom lived on the southern edge of the old town center and partly in the then new development area of the western town center. After the November pogrom in 1938, the living situation of the Jews in Nordenstadt also deteriorated more and more, and whoever was able to flee abroad. Fourteen Jewish citizens were deported and murdered in 1943. Another fifteen people from the north of the city were abducted from other places and also became victims of the Holocaust .
Territorial reform
The place was incorporated into Wiesbaden on January 1, 1977 as part of the Hessian regional reform by virtue of state law .

coat of arms
The coat of arms of Nordenstadt shows a book that represents the Bible and two gears that represent the industrial area. There is also an old city seal that shows Bartholomew with a Bible and a sword.
Economy and Infrastructure
The Erbenheim airfield is in the immediate vicinity .
Nordenstadt is characterized by extensive industrial areas that can be reached via the federal highway 66 .
Three kindergartens and a primary school make up the educational offer in Nordenstadt.
The bus line 15 stops at all stops in Nordenstadt and forms a connection with the city center via Erbenheim. Lines AST35 / 36, 37, 43, 46, 48, 262, X26 also stop in Nordenstadt, but not at all stops. There is also a night bus line (Nightliner), line N2, which runs every 90 minutes during the night, similar to line 15.
