Wiesbaden Literature Days

The Wiesbaden Literature Days have been a literary event that has taken place every two years since 1993 and is characterized by the fact that the overall program is organized by a different important author each time.

The event also serves to provide a forum for young authors.

Emergence

After the Hessian state government had donated a special prize to the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize in the twin city of Klagenfurt in 1986, the first 10 winners of this prize and the Bachmann jury were invited to the first Wiesbaden Literature Days. The positive response from the population to the resulting extensive program with many literary celebrities led to the literary days becoming a regular event for the city of Wiesbaden.

So far, the following writers have organized the Wiesbaden Literature Days:

At the time of the event, they lived in Wiesbaden as hosts for a week. The motto of the days "To be a guest at ..." varies from event to event only in the added name of the host writer.
