William Beier

William Beier (born November 2, 1982 in Manila , Philippines ) is a former German figure skater .

Life

William Beier was born in Manila to a Filipino mother and a German father. The mother left her husband and children. Father Siegfried Beier returned to Germany with the children shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall. So William Beier came to Chemnitz at the age of 8 . Just two months after returning to Germany, Siegfried Beier died in a car accident. William Beier then grew up with relatives of his father who worked in the Chemnitz ice rink.

William Beier was an ice dancer . He ran with his sister Christina Beier . At the age of 13, William Beier went to Dortmund with his sister to train ice dancing with Oleg Ryjkin , as this was no longer promoted in Chemnitz in 1996. Since then you have started for TSC Eintracht Dortmund .

In 2004 the couple changed coach and training facility and now trained with Martin Skotnický in Oberstdorf . During the training they were also supported by Kati Winkler .

The couple retired in August 2010 (William's knee problems)
