Wolfgang Zöllick

Wolfgang Zöllick (born June 17, 1946 in Siegburg ) is a former German local politician ( CDU ) and sports official. He was Deputy Mayor and Senator in Rostock and President of Hansa Rostock .

Life

Wolfgang Zöllick, son of Günther and Elsemarie Zöllick, grew up in Rostock and attended the 1st EOS "Ernst Thälmann" (today Rostock inner-city high school ) until 1965 . He passed his state examination as a teacher in Potsdam in 1969. He is a certified teacher for sports and geography.

Zöllick was Deputy Mayor and Senator for Social Affairs of the Hanseatic City of Rostock (1990–1994) during the riots in Lichtenhagen in August 1992. From January 1992 onwards, up to 900 asylum seekers a month arrived at the reception center in the “Sunflower House” in Lichtenhagen , in July even 70 per day . There were protest gatherings of locals. When the mayor was on vacation until August, Zöllick, as deputy mayor, tried to calm the angry crowd and call them to order. From August 22nd to 26th, however, the riots broke out in Rostock-Lichtenhagen .

Later he was manager of TV Rostock . At Hansa Rostock Zöllick is an honorary member.
