World Series of Poker 2003
The World Series of Poker 2003 was the 34th edition of the Poker World Championship and took place from April 15 to May 23, 2003 at Binion's Horseshoe in Las Vegas . The main event triggered a poker boom.

Main Event
The final table was played on May 23, 2003. With Chris Moneymaker, an amateur won the main event, which triggered a poker boom (the so-called Moneymaker boom ) and more than tripled the number of participants in the following year . In the final hand he won with 5 ♦ 4 ♠ against Farha with J ♥ 10 ♦ .
