World Series of Poker 2008

The World Series of Poker 2008 was the 39th edition of the Poker World Championship and took place on May 30, 2008 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas . It ended with the final table of the main event , which - a novelty in the history of the WSOP - was played only after a four-month break from November 9-11, 2008.

Tournaments

structure

A total of 55 poker tournaments in the variants Texas Hold'em , Omaha Hold'em , Seven Card Stud , Razz and the mixed variant HORSE were on the tournament schedule. The buy-in was 500 to 50,000 US dollars . For a tournament victory, the players received a bracelet in addition to the prize money . With John Phan one player won two bracelets ; Vanessa Selbst and Svetlana Gromenkova was the only woman victorious. All tournaments were hosted by Harrah's Entertainment at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas .
