Yuka Fujimori ( Japanese 藤森 由香 , Fujimori Yuka ; born June 11, 1986 in Nagawa ) is a Japanese snowboarder .

Career

Fujimori began her career in snowboard cross and made her debut in Joetsu-kokusai in February 2004 in the Snowboard World Cup . She came in 33th and 25th at the Snowboard Junior World Championships in 2004 in Oberwiesenthal , she was tenth and the following year in Zermatt fifth. In October 2005 she achieved her first top ten placement in the World Cup with fifth place in Saas-Fee .

At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , Fujimori came seventh. The following year she finished 25th at the 2007 Snowboard World Championships in Arosa . At the Snowboard World Championships 2009 in Gangwon she managed to place 22nd. At the beginning of the 2010/11 season she came on the podium for the first time in Lech am Arlberg with third place in the World Cup. In the further course of the season she reached three top ten placements and at the end of the season she was tenth in the Snowboard Cross World Cup. At the season highlight of the 2011 Snowboard World Championships in La Molina , she achieved 12th place. In the 2011/12 season she came out of six World Cup stars, three times in the top ten and thus achieved tenth place in the Snowboard Cross World Cup. In 2012, 2013 and 2014 she became the Japanese champion in snowboard cross. In the following season, she again finished tenth in the Snowboard Cross World Cup with three top ten results. At the Snowboard World Championships 2013 in Stoneham she ran to 16th place. After 11th place and 10th place at the beginning of the 2013/14 season, she finished fourth in the Snowboard Cross World Cup with three fourth and one fifth places at the end of the season. At the highlight of the season, the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she came 22nd. The following year she came 11th at the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg .

Fujimori has been competing in the freestyle disciplines since the 2015/16 season . In March 2016 she became the Japanese champion in slopestyle . In the 2016/17 season she won the Thredbo Slopestyle, the Thredbo Big Air and the Slopestyle at the Spring Battle in Flachauwinkl . She also won in slopestyle at the Total Fight in Grandvalira . In the World Cup, she achieved 14th place in the Freestyle World Cup with five top ten placements. At the 2017 Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada , she came 31st in Big Air and eighth in Slopestyle. In the 2017/18 season she won in slopestyle at the Grandvalira Total Fight and took second place in slopestyle at the spring battle in Flachauwinkl. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in Big Air, which was held for the first time as part of the Olympic snowboard competitions, she came seventh behind Anna Gasser on February 22 and ninth in slopestyle.
