Yvette Nicole Brown (born August 12, 1971 in East Cleveland , Ohio ) is an American actress .

Life

Brown began her acting career in 2000 with extra roles .

In 2003 she won a casting for the television series Girlfriends , in which she then starred in two episodes. Shortly thereafter, she received one of the leading roles in The Big House , which was canceled after six episodes.

Between 2004 and 2007 she played in 15 episodes of the comedy series Drake & Josh and in the movie Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh based on the series, the cinema owner Helen Ophelia Dubois. She also had guest roles on series such as Malcolm in the middle , Boston Legal and Dr. House .

From 2009 to 2014 she played the role of Shirley in the comedy series Community , one of the leading roles alongside Chevy Chase . She left the series after the fifth season, but has two guest appearances in season 6, one in the season premiere and one in the finale. Since 2015 she has been part of the main cast of the television series Odd Couple , a new edition of Männerwirtschaft . There she plays Oscar Madison's assistant, Danielle.

Her film roles included small roles in The Island , Tropic Thunder, and Human, Dave! and supporting roles in The Naked Truth with Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler and The Dog Hotel with Don Cheadle and Emma Roberts in the lead roles.

Brown also shot television commercials for Citibank , The Home Depot and LG, among others .
