At the Wuxi Classic 2012 he made it into the last 32 with a win over Michael White . He also made it to the first final round at the International Championship in his hometown of Chengdu , but due to the cancellation of his opponent. At the end of the year he also took part in the Senior World Championship for amateur players in Latvia and won the title at the age of 15 as the youngest player to date and the first Chinese. Thanks to this success, he was also qualified for the professional tour for the next two years.

The young professional started the 2014/15 season with a successful qualification for the Wuxi Classic with a win over Alfie Burden . After he failed twice in the second qualifying round, he succeeded in qualifying against Liang Wenbo at the International Championship and a first round win in the main tournament. At the China Open he was able to confirm his success with victories over Michael Holt , another player from the top 32, and Anthony Hamilton . In the Players Tour Championship he reached the quarter-finals at the 2015 Xuzhou Open this season and twice the round of 32. He also made it into the top 64 of the world rankings. With minor successes he stabilized this position and during the whole season he lost only one opening match.
