Chitlapakkam is a panchayat town in Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is a residential township located south of Chennai. It is famous for its small lake and adjoining ecosystems. Chitlapakkam has the highest water table level in Chennai and is probably the only place in Chennai not yet plagued by water scarcity. Part of this has been due to the conservation efforts of the residents here.
