I have inserted a "hangon" request on this page I created as it is not blatant advertising, but is in fact an entry providing information about a not-for-profit network that exists in Toronto (Canada) with particular activity and history of concern and potential interest to others. I could add much more historical information about the settlement house movement if that would help qualify the page as a valid entry. But the current philosophy and activity of the "neighbourhood centres" in Toronto emerges from this historical model of practice that has provided important contributions to community well-being and social service practice over time. |

Wikipedia already maintains a page on the "settlement movement" that mentions a network of similar organizations across Britain. |
