Asphalt refers to a mixture of aggregates, binder and filler. It is most commonly used in the construction of pavement, and may sometimes be used as an umbrella term for multiple related products.

Internationally, Asphalt mostly refers to Asphalt concrete. Asphalt concrete is a homogeneous mixture of coarse and fine aggregates, filler aggregates, and bituminous binder.

In the US, Asphalt may also refer to "Liquid Asphalt Cement". Liquid Asphalt Cement is the binder within an Asphalt - often bitumen, a sticky, black and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid that is present in most crude petroleum.
