=Water levels of the Birmingham Canal Navigations=


The BCN is built on three main '''water levels'''', each with its own reservoirs.

*453 ft, the Birmingham Level;
*473 ft, the Wolverhampton Level;
*408 ft, the Walsall Level
These levels are linked by locks at various places on the network.

There are also stretches on their own levels.

Titford Branch was built at 511 ft, it was linked to the Titford Reservoir. A feeder supplies water to the Edgbaston Reservoir

Wolverhampton level 473 ft Brindley/Smeaton. 35 miles navigable with no locks p22. Wolverhampton top lock to Smethwick locks + Wyrley and Essington + branches + Engine Arm. [+ Wednesbury Oak Loop, Dudley Tunnel, Ogley Top Lock, Lord Hay's Branch, Cannock Extension, Daw End Branch, Anglesea Branch]

Birmingham level 453 ft. Tipton (Factory Bottom Lock), Island line, New Line at Smethwick, Netherton Tunnel, Dudley No. 2 (dry), Gas Street Basin, Worcester and Birmingham Canal to Tardebigge, Kings Norton Junction, Northern Stratford Canal to Lapworth Top Lock, [Wednesbury Oak Loop]
