Requests for IP check

  • Vandal and attack accounts may be listed here for the purpose identifying and blocking the underlying IP address or open proxy. Requests to confirm sockpuppets of known users should be listed in the sockpuppet section above.
  • If you already know the IP address of the suspected open proxy, list it at Wikipedia:Open Proxies instead.
  • Use === Subsections ===, do not create subpages.
  • List user names using the {{checkuser|username}} template. Add new reports to the top of the section.
  • Requests may be acted on or declined according to the discretion of the checkuser admins. Responses will be noted here.
  • Answered requests will be moved to Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/IP check/Archive for 7 days, after which they will be deleted. No separate archive (other than the page history) will be maintained.

SummerThunder

User:SummerThunder is a banned user with a history of obsessive sockpuppeting and abusive language dating back to late 2006. I wonder if we can shut him up for good with a nice IP block, and/or perhaps contact the institution he's editing from, if it's what I suspect it is. These are five of his most recently-used accounts. Grandmasterka 03:14, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Destructive edits & personal attacks

All of these accounts seem to act in lock-step in terms of destructive edits, POV-pushing, false accusations of vandalism, and a lack of basic knowledge about English grammar and Wikipedia guidelines. They never seem to edit at the exact same time, and their comments are all written a similar tone and style. They mostly edit articles and sections about Croation history. It is impossible to make legitimate grammar and formatting corrections to articles and sections that those accounts are involved with. Spylab 12:18, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

 IP blocked Though the 4.249.xxx one was too large a range. Voice-of-All 02:35, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

JB196

Added a blatant puppet that is confirmed, need to check open proxy. –– Lid(Talk) 08:42, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, JB196 or not (and this is pretty much certainly JB196) that does not allow us to break WP:BLP and reliable sources verifiability policy. Burntsauce 17:40, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Added one, and I agree in general (I think BLP even trumps BAN in this one instance, even then, once Burntsauce "confirmed" the BLP removal, there certainly was no reason to revert after that). SirFozzie 23:22, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Simonne

The anon-user 70.110.235.101, who has vandalized several pages and has been temporarily blocked, has made edits related to the user Simonne (editing Simonne's talk page, readding her images when they've been removed, ect). I would like an IP check to see if they are the same person. --DrBat 00:00, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Are you going to block Simonne as well? --DrBat 16:48, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
