This article should probably just be moved into the product of subgroups article. The articles of Zappa and Szep are five and fifteen years after a similar article by Miller. The product of subgroups goes back to at least Burnside, but one could possibly give Miller credit for the first systematic study of the property in the abstract. Certainly factorization results are a staple of modern group theory with Hall's Sylow systems and Thompson's factorization of p-solvable groups being high points.
