Fortunato Mizzi, (1844 - 1905) was the founder of the Reform Party and also the one who started the process which eventually led to Malta's independence. The Reform Party was the forerunner of the Nationalist Party in Malta. Mizzi married Maria Sofia Fogliero de Luna. They had a son by the name of Enrico who later became Prime Minister of Malta.
