GA Review

This review is transcluded from Talk:Seymour Reit/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

Additions

Apparently there is very little published on Reit - I looked around for a day or so and found very little. You did a good job of assembling what could easily be found into a coherent article. I think, however, that describing the Casper character just a little bit more would flesh out the article even further. Awadewit (talk) 05:50, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

  • The Google Books searches in the footnotes are missing retrieval dates. They should also have the author's name, which is most often Reit, but sometimes includes a second author.
  • Steve Holland is the author's name - it needs to be added to the footnote.
  • Elaine Woo is the author's name - it needs to be added to the footnote.
  • Eric P. Nash is the author's name - it needs to be added to the footnote.
  • snopes.com looks like a self-published source. How does it meet the criteria for SPS?
  • Eric P. Nash is the author's name - it needs to be added to the footnote.
  • Frances Taliaferro is the author's name - it needs to be added to the footnote.
  • Lawrence van Gelder is the author's name - it needs to be added to the footnote.

I see no reason why this article cannot be promoted after these issues are taken care of, so I am placing the article on hold. Awadewitwi (talk) 05:50, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2nd reviewer

I agree with Awadewitwi, that this article is of GA quality.

2 things i would suggest/query:
1. The lead could do with slight lengthening, to make it into 2 paragraphs. It currently says very little about his biography beyond his job. Once sentence at least per subsection would be nice. And mentioning the lack of Casper royalties in a way that would make the reader more interested in reading further.
2. How was the selected bibliography chosen? Its there any way to confirm which are his relatively important works? By number of reprints or awards or translations if nothing else? If cannot be found is a shame, but not essential for GA

But neither are major jobs, and once the authors are acknowledged in the footnotes as above, i'd support listingYobmod (talk) 10:42, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • The user who nominated this article for GA is on wikibreak. What should we do? Awadewit (talk) 10:37, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I left another message for the nominator. Awadewit (talk) 16:36, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'd say try and find someone to finish up the little that's left over the next couple days, otherwise fail it. This has been on hold for a very long time. Wizardman 12:31, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm failing this now, as it has been on hold for a while and the nominator has not responded. Awadewit (talk) 12:43, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
