Hawthorne is a rail station located in Hawthorne, New Jersey in Passaic County. The station is a two-room, one-story, street-level wooden structure with brown and cream paint. Formerly the station served as the ticket office for the commuter train stop (offered until 1966) and freight depot building. Structure has been located on this corner for almost 110 years (date?).

Hawthorne station is leased from New York, Susquehanna & Western Railway, the station's present owner by Volunteer Railroaders Association, aka VRA, a non-profit railroad preservation group. The VRA uses the station as a ticket office for their fund raising Easter Bunny train rides and Santa Claus train rides for the benefit the future NJ State Transportation Museum.
