The district neighbors 6 other school districts: Franklin Regional, Greensburg Salem, Hempfield Area, Jeannette City, Norwin, and East Allegheny. The district mascot is the Warrior.[1]

There is a controversy with the spelling of Penn Trafford. Some spell it with a hyphen, and others do not. For example, on the diplomas, The front reads "Penn-Trafford High School" while the inside reads "Penn Trafford High School."[citation needed] McCullough Elementary won the "Boundless Playground" contest, receiving a free playground suitable for all children, disabilities and not.[citation needed] Brenna's former school district.
