Culture of Trinidad and Tobago

All respect to you Mr. Panda. When I saw that my contribution was deleted about Chutney from Trinidad and Tobago, I just bent over wounded and surrendered; but first I did not know or understand what hit me. WHY? Because, I thought that I was volunteering information as an eye or ear witness since as a musician, all these things happened in front my eyes. I really believed it would've been appreciated.

I couldn't understand how my input could be vandalism. I ask myself. Doesn't this have a feature marked 'edit?' Did I not leave the original writings alone?

With great respect, I am still confused. I repeat, that I am from Trinidad and Tobago born in 1950, learnt more music at St Benedict's College, observed and furthered my knowledge (exams and practical). If my intention was to vandalize, I would have deleted and inserted cusswords or something. I am still staggering in amazement as to what I did that is offensive. I remember sometime ago, my edit about St Benedict's College was deleted. There again. I went to school there, and knew for example that I met and left a form six there while the Site said otherwise. I sent 2 photos of myself in school and Band uniform, the only photo representing the Military band etc etc. I chose to take my time to give this free truth and it is deleted. Respectfully I am confused.

With respect to Chutney (Chatney or Chatni) as I said, I was there. Is it because I said Tourists to Trinidad come and pronounce things differently, then proceed to spell OUR things how THEY pronounce them? Should they not learn the pronounciation and spelling from us as we do or should do when we go abroad? Again, I ask myself: "WHAT IS IT?" Even though I know I am correct about the Chatney story, having read articles from Indians, having been exposed (lived at and close to)and taught by the East Indians, I STILL WENT BROWSING THE NET and found experts from India and otherwise SAYING THE SAME about the word being Chatni and not Chutney. They all say that Chutney is English spelling.

Now I do not know if I should beg for mercy or not. My intention is to assist, not to vandalize or should I open my own page with my own eyewitness account of Trinidad and Tobago? Would you allow me to do this? trevorcjoseph@yahoo.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.222.75.240 (talk) 18:36, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'm sure you had the best of intentions. I'd say no problem, but that's not the case; that led to http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk%3AIReceivedDeathThreats&diff=242387928&oldid=242387801! Help! I didn't vandalize anything. And now http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk%3AGrsz11&diff=242387748&oldid=242387496 ! I am having a heated debate with Grsz! Accused me of vandalism (false). Asked me to be blocked immediately (but denies it). Accused me of editing comments on his user page when (I just moved things to put the entries about me together). Hope someone sees it's all BS before I get banned. --IReceivedDeathThreats (talk) 01:17, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Citizendium

Excuse me mate, but how would you know whether my contribution was 'vandalism' or not? The vandal-detecting program which you're using appears, on its page, to be urging people not to use it because it's 'broken' - surely by continuing to use it you're going to end up, somehow, putting yourself in a position of looking like a twat (after it deletes something perfectly legitimate - the risk of which is, I assume, why it has been declared to be broken...) I would sign my comment but I don't bloody know how... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.211.209.22 (talk) 18:59, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Darth Panda about northland removal

Hi Darth Panda

I am new to Wikipedia and are still learning. However my complete deletion of Northland was no mistake since I believe the article is very biased and does not have base in reality with verifiable sources it directly violates Wikipedias rule of being objective in contribution which Ingoman is not.

Thank you IgorIgor akb80 (talk) 19:35, 2 October 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Igor akb80 (talkcontribs) 19:23, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Darth Panda

hi care to explain further how I use

template in short context please.

Sincerely Igor akb80 (talk) 19:46, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think Northland State already is pending with a similar symbol and has been the last 2 months. I believe we should remove it completely as the contributor has failed to provide reliable source Igor akb80 (talk) 19:48, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Economic Rescue Bill

Why is "On October 1, 2008 Senator Brown voted yea for the Economic Rescue Bill, against the wishes of his constituency." considered vandalism? I realize there is an appearance of opinion with the use of the phrase "against the wishes..."; but it is factual. It is also constructive to note the voting record of important records as a part of bio. Would it be more palatable to say "On October 1, 2008 Senator Brown voted yea for the Economic Rescue Bill."? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.109.106.45 (talk) 20:54, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are welcome ChiragPatnaik (talk) 14:38, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I also would like to add my applause for your vandalism reverting. I have seen your edits, and your reversions are good. Your AIV reports are giving me carpel tunnel from clicking "block" so much. Keep up the good work! J.delanoygabsadds 16:05, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was joking about the carpel tunnel, but just before I wrote the above, I consecutively blocked something like 15 IP addresses that you reported to AIV. When you (finally :P ) stopped reporting, I thought, "Wow.", and came here to tell you that you are doing good work. J.delanoygabsadds 02:18, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Darth Panda I need your help

Hi

I believe we are experiencing some kind of editing war in the Somaliland article. user Middayexpress which has been warned several times has been undoing and rewriting false information in Somaliland introduction section.

I have sources to back up my version.

Middayexpress however seems to be writing from imagination.

Please help us protect Somaliland article from vandalism.

Sincerely Igor akb80 (talk)

I'm guessing the author's trying to make a "list of cryptids" article. I'm about to tell him we already have one here. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 19:34, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

regarding Somaliland article

Hi

I am right because of my proof. Somaliland is not autonom but rather 'de facto independent. Somaliland is not part of Somalia de jure as in autonomy. I find this very serious that user Cambridgebay water is misinforming people.

I cannot accept false information provided by this user

Yarm

I suggested some corrections & they've been deleted immediately. What is your connection with Yarm ?

I have lived there for 37 years. Levendale (estate) has never been known as Ingleby Grange.

The correct name for the Catholic church on Yarm is not St Mary and St Romuald, it is Ss Mary & Romuald. See http://middlesbrough-diocese.org.uk/parishes/ss-mary-and-romuald-yarm/

There is a good digital virtual tour of Yarm at http://www.digital-yarm.com/virtual_tour.phtml You might care to seek permission to add it to the site.

Hope this helps keep site correct & up to date. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ibnewshound (talkcontribs) 01:15, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Catalina Highway

Hochard (talk) 13:11, 5 October 2008 (UTC)October 5, 2008.[reply]

The Wikipedia page Catalina Highway is completely incorrect. Catalina Highway begins at Tanque Verde Road, in the City of Tucson limits, and terminates at Mount Lemmon Short Road in Pima County jurisdiction. How do I know? Well to start off with I have thoroughly researched this topic with the aide of the Coronado National Forest Services Archeologist William Gillespie, second I have written an article in our agency paper. I will concede that most Tucsonans are not aware of the name change at Mount Lemmon Short Road, which is Mile Post 0 Mount Lemmon Highway (where Catalina Highway terminates and Mount Lemmon Highway begins).

Even less familiar to Tucsonans, unfortunately, is that Mount Lemmon Highway terminates at Butterfly Road. This is where General Hitchcock Highway begins and terminates at Turkey Run Road (mile post 24.774), (yes I know the roadway limit to the thousandth of a mile), in the Village of Summerhaven. The road continues through the Village of Summerhaven as Sabino Canyon Park, again frequently incorrectly identified at Sabino Canyon (parkway, park road, and even parkway road), and terminates at Marshall Gulch, which is closed via a gate during the evening hours. General Hitchcock Hy is named after Frank Harris Hitchcock, former U.S. Postmaster General, former Tucsonan, responsible for the creation of the Coronado National Forest, the Postal Banking system as it exists today, Air Mail, and many other respectable achievements.

Unfortunately, the Catalina Hy article as it exists is correct in one aspect... that the portion of Mount Lemmon Hy is a favorite of motorcyclists; however, I do not believe that is a responsible post considering the posted speed limit is 35 mph and many of the motorcyclists find themselves traveling in excess of the posted speed limit as do many other motorists.

So you see Darth Panda, the article Catalina Hy, as it exists is not only deficient in the name of the roadway once the author did not have the wherewithal to even know that Mount Lemmon Hy changes to General Hitchcock Hy then to Sabino Canyon Pk. Another significant deficiency that the current article misses is the existence of Rose Canyon Lake, which would have been a far better addition than the fact that the highway is a favorite of motorcyclists. After all what motorcyclists do not enjoy winding mountain roadways, no need to advertise that sort of activity in an encyclopedic format.

I would appreciate it if you would allow me to edit the page without changing it back and threatening me with deletion of my editing rights, I do understand your post that deleting almost an entire page may give the appearance of page vandalism; however, as you can now see the entire page is deficient.

Your call as to the correctness of the page. I would be happy to provide you with my credentials to support my position; however, I am not willing to post them in an open forum.

Importance or significance of the subject

hi, I am brand new at Wiki, can you please help me with "Rafi Haladjian" article? You marked it for speedy deletion, but I don't know how to indicate the importance or significance of the subject. Hello + New Page Patrolling

Wow, I actually ran into you just now, and I was wasn't looking for you. BTW, you just got templated (is that better than being rickrolled?).

Template:Uw-patrolled NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 01:16, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, Huggle seems to be having issues with marking pages as patrolled. I can see it trying to do that on the bottom (in the log) but it always fails for some odd reason. Otherwise, I would be marking those pages. And I'd far rather be templated than rickrolled... It has less embarrassment. DARTH PANDAtalk 01:20, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's interesting. Have you tried logging in and out? I find that often helps with huggle. NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 01:23, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Seeing as you prefer me to respond here, I will do just that! Anyways, I switch computers often and will use Huggle on all of these computers. I don't remember a single time when I have successfully marked a page as patrolled, although I may be wrong. I may have to go check out my Huggle settings, but I'm going to call it a night at this point, so I'll try to figure it out tomorrow. Thanks for the heads-up though!
