Landlords of the Queen Vic
I've made a change to both the Phil Mitchell article and that of the Queen Vic regarding this, you'll see my reasons on both pages discussion, but what it comes down to is that Phil cannot be a licence holder though he can be the owner. Douglasnicol (talk) 12:36, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Hi, I haven't changed the 'chart' at the bottom of Phils article as I'm not quite sure on what to do there. I suppose technically it shouldn't be there, but perhaps a 'proprietor of the Queen Vic' instead. I can't quite remember the ownership share of the Vic. Does Grant still have a share, is it 50/50 between Phil and Peggy, I'm not sure Douglasnicol (talk) 14:54, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Hmm, i'm not sure either. I do remember the Mitchells bought it off Sharon back in 2005 after Den's murder, but I dont think shares were ever mentioned. There was something to do with Phil bailing Peggy out when she got into trouble with debtors last year, i think. It's right though, as you say, that in each instance the Mitchells have been owners, the licensee was always Peggy, except during the early 90s, when it was Sharon Mitchell, although Phil even owned a third of it back then. It's the same with Grant, actually. It's far too complicated to keep track of :) I think I will just remove the succession chart from Phil.GGMoan 15:02, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding templates
Sharon is in the Watts one because she's adopted. Adoption usually counts in family templates. Best bet is to query matter w/ Trampikey.

- But the Wicks kids have never been named Carter. They were supposedly born Wicks, that would be the name on the birth certificates, that is the name they continue to use, and they were brought up as part of the Wicks family. They are legally Wickses in name if not in blood, even if they havent been legally adopted. Those templates should not be about genealogy. A basic template like that cannot possibly tell readers the intricate connections of families in EE, that is what the family tree articles are for. Those templates should just be about giving readers links to the members of that family. To the basic reader, Deano and Carly are Wickses.GGMoan 15:24, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to Wikipedia meetup in London
Date: 13:00 onwards, Sunday 10 August 2008
Venue: Penderel's Oak pub, Holborn WC1 map
More information: Wikipedia:Meetup/London 12
Hello,
I noticed that you have listed yourself as a Wikipedian in London, so I thought you might like to come to one of our monthly social meetups. The next one is going to be on Sunday 10 August, which might well be rather short notice, but if you can't come this time, we try to have one every second Sunday of the month.
If you haven't been before, these meetups are mainly casual social events for Wikipedia enthusiasts in which we chat about Wikipedia and any other topics we fancy. It's a great way to meet some very keen Wikipedians, but we'd also love for you to come along if you're interested in finding out more about Wikipedia, other Wikimedia projects, or other collaborative wiki projects too.
The location is a pub that is quite quiet and family friendly on a Sunday lunchtime, so hopefully younger Wikipedians will also feel welcome and safe. Alcohol consumption is certainly not required!
Although the meetups are popular, many UK-based editors still don't know about them. It would be great to welcome some fresh faces, so I hope you can come along.
Yours,
James F. (talk) 09:27, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please forgive the slightly impersonal mass-invite!
Hm. You recently talked to Lifebaka about you know, when i was blocked, i noticed on their talk page it said that some User called Pig faced pratt had been vandalising, when i was watching the blocked accountDumdum118, it has already been suspected that he uses a sock puppet account called Dumdum119, now, Pig faced pratt reverted to their preffered vandalism versions, i don't know how anyone thought that he's my sock. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dodgechris (talk • contribs)
- I dont really understand what you are trying to say with any of that. I havent talked with that user. it does seem suspicious to me that you were strangely blocked from editing all of a sudden when no one had actually blocked you, and this happened after the vandal had just been blocked for vandalising a page in which your edits had just been reverted. But I hope you are not using sockpuppets again, partly because I think you make decent edits at times, and partly because I dont want to look like an idiot for helping you get unbloked if you're never going to learn your lesson. But if you say you did not, then I will believe you.GGMoan 21:33, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Leona Lewis on The X Factor - nominated for deletion (again)
The article Leona Lewis on The X Factor has been nominated for deletion again. I noticed that you were a contributor on the discussion for the first nomination, and your opinions on this topic would be valuable once again. Please feel free to offer your comments to the discussion. Thanks — Wiki edit Jonny (talk) 11:41, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Haha!
Where have I seen this before? lol -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 01:09, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Sorry I admit, I plagerised it from your sandbox, which incidentally was alsmot impossible to find since you deleted your userpage. I didnt think you'd mind :) GunGagdinMoan 01:11, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Jay Brown
I'm sorry, I'm an idiot! I read it as the real-life character rather than the fictional character *trouts self*. Thanks for the note, PeterSymonds (talk) 23:02, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Ditto's PeterSymonds's comment. My apologies —— RyanLupin • (talk) 23:03, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wellard
Sorry! But I had to do it just one last time.
Also, considering some of the EastEnders storylines, Wellard doing the shooting is perfectly plausible :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.42.180.198 (talk) 05:39, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- OK now you have had your moment of glory. It's not a heavily edited page, so I doubt anyone will even see the vandalism, but it did amuse me when I read it, so hopefully that will be good enough, and I will even put it on the talk page as an example of your comedy genius, to preserve for everyone to see forever more.GunGagdinMoan 08:39, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Argh!
I knew I'd taken too long to cap pictures of Callum and Danielle! As soon as I'd saved the pics I knew you'd have beaten me to it! lol
Yours are better than mine anyway... though I'm gonna try and get a better one of little Tiff from today's episode. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 23:31, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- LOL sorry, before you do, I already have one of Tiff from today. I'll upload, see if you think it's good enough, if not u can replace.GunGagdinMoan 23:34, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice
Hi,
As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.
We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.
You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Pat Evans
Just to let you know that I have taken up your offer and added my opinion to the forum. Thank you for leaving me a message. As you can tell Pat is one of my favourite characters in EastEnders. I just find her and her family fascinating, especially her granddaughter Bianca. I would really appreciate if you had any information which you could divulge to me, such as her relationship with her grandson Joe Wicks. Unfortunately I did not watch EastEnders during Joe's time in Walford and subsequently do not know if they shared many scenes together, had storylines together, or just what their relationship was like in general. So I would be grateful if you would, obviously if you can, shed any light on this for me.
Thank you Eastendersfreak (talk) 16:02, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply. No I was not aware of that site, but I will definitely look into it now that you have told me about it, so thanks again. Another question I have to ask you is if you know how to download pics from youtube. Someone told me about it, but I am not sure of how to do it. Thanks Eastendersfreak (talk) 15:41, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I have reverted you on this page. You say the material is uncontroversial, however you are ignoring that I challenged it in April. According to the Verifiability policy, "any material challenged... should be attributed to a reliable, published source using an inline citation" and "the burden of evidence lies with the editor who adds or restores material". Also relevant here is the bit that says "Any material lacking a reliable source may be removed, but editors may object if you remove material without giving them sufficient time to provide references". I think you'll agree that 5 months counts as "sufficient time" to stand before action is taken.
My concern with this article (and around 50 others like it) is that they have become places for fans to publish their own analyses and synthesis based upon one primary source (the show). This is pretty blatant violation of the No Original Research rule. I will be very thorough in ensuring these articles are properly sourced in future. - Mark 02:08, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for making a start on improving the Coronation Street character articles, as discussed on the WikiProject, e.g. such as your improvements to the Rosie Webster article were great! Tell me, where do you get all these references from? Ced 10:33, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
