Um, please read the article before you revert. Almost all the info was simply moved, out of the "trivia" type section that has been tagged as such. Or do you think trivia sections should be encouraged? And with the Greek info, part was removed as it didn't match the rest of the "greek" info there, and ''none'' of it was [[WP:V|cited]] as required per policy. :You're right about the mascot; I missed your move. The Greek stuff is not hard to cite. It's not terribly important, but I don't see why it should be taken out. I'm also concerned over how much you cut from this page, including a lot of the alumni. Just because people, especially old dead people, aren't well-represented on the internet doesn't mean they aren't notable. Wikification

This article could use greater Wikification, especially in places like Current Programs, which could use sub-categories. Removing the one subcategory already there seems like a step in the wrong direction. -Cyberscribe 03:51, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

I think the notable alumni section needs pruning--if these people are notable, they need their own articles. What's left needs to be copyedited. The article reads somewhat like an ad, and I suspect some copy-and-paste from the school's website. For guidelines to help cleanup, take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities. Ideas for improvement/expansion

If you look at some of the other college articles on wikipedia you will see PU does not have very much coverage. First, how to improve existing article:

1) The alumni list should be pared down to those with existing articles, and then just a brief mention of what makes them important
2) Cite some sources and make it more encylopedic (see WP:MOS)
3) expand academic coverage
4) start a athletics section
5) start a campus section

Expansion: New articles to start and then link between.

Pacific University Health Professions Campus, Pacific Univesity College of Health Professions, Sidney Marsh, Marsh Hall, Pacific University College of Optometry, Alvin T. Smith House, Alvin T. Smith, Tualatin Academy, and the other schools and any other notable buildings.

Good luck, and stop by Wikiproject Oregon if you have any questions or need some assitance. Aboutmovies 16:22, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • The lead needs to be expanded, plus much of those things mentioned above. The "facts" section could be dispersed into other sections, such as the newspaper and yearbook items moved to "History" and the boxer mascot and wrestling item to a section on sports.
