Marita Conlon-McKenna (b. 14 July 1956 in Dublin) is an Irish children's novels author. She was born in Dublin in 1956 and brought up in Goatstown.
She is the author of the Children of the Famine Trilogy which was inspired by the Great Irish Famine.
Marita has won several literary awards, including the International Reading Association Award', the Osterreichischer Kinder und Jugendbuchpreis, the Reading Association of Ireland Award and the Bisto Book of the Year Award.
