José Olalla was a Cuban friar, beatified in 2008. [2] He was abandoned at 30 days of age, and was raised in an orphanage in Havana. A member of the Hospitallier Order of Saint John of God, he helped the sick and wounded during Cuba's first War of Independence. Raul Castro attended his beatification ceremony.
