Tirutakakatevar was a Tamil poet who wrote Jivaka-chintamani, one of the five greatest epics of Tamil literature, (Manimegalai, Silapadhigaaram , Valayaapathi and Kundalakesi, along with Jivaka-chintamani, constitute the five great epics of Tamil literature). He, as a local king, also supported to create Kamban, one of the most famous poets of Tamil literature.
