Micah True (born c. 1952-2012) was an American ultrarunner from Boulder, Colorado, who gained fame as a central character in Christopher McDougall's best-selling book Born to Run.[1] The book chronicles his time in Mexico's Copper Canyon with the Tarahumara Indians, who taught him a new and better way to run.[2][3]

Disappearance

On 27 March 2012, True went missing after heading out for a run in the Gila Wilderness, part of the Gila National Forest in southwestern New Mexico. He departed from the Wilderness Lodge in Gila. It was assumed that he was heading north towards the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument. Search efforts are continuing.[2][3]
