'Young and Restless' are a post-rock band hailing from Canberra, Australia. They consist of 5 members and formed in April 2005.

Vocals: Karina Utomo
Guitar: Ash St. Ives
Guitar: Mark Falkland
Bass: Ross Paxman
Drums: Drums

The roots of 'Young and Restless' were formed in 1999 when Ash and Karina attended high school together. They quickly bonded over their similar taste in music and immediately started writing songs together. Come 2001, they had formed a pop-punk band by the name of 'Pacer'. 'Pacer' played shows for 2 years but never released any formal recordings. In 2003, Ash decided to move to Adelaide to study. In that time, Karina had met Ross and Mark and vowed to start a heavier band then 'Pacer'.

In 2004, Ash returned to Canberra and Karina introduced him to the rest of the group and 'Young and Restless' were born. They played their first show in April 2005 and have grown in style and confidence since then, altering their original sound completely. Originally using hard-rock acts like 'The Bronx' and 'Von Bondies' as influences, 'Young and Restless' now take influence from anywhere - mixing metal licks, riot-grrl inuendos with hip hop beats and Sonic Youth-style guitar noise.

'Young and Restless' have played shows with many interstate and international acts and in March 2006 they entered the studio with Chris Colonna of the Bumblebeez to record their debut EP. They plan to release it in May 2006.
