Welcome

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Hope you like it here, and stick around.

Here are some tips to help you get started:

Good luck!

about the "the" in Four Swords

The title screen shows The. Therefore, should the naming reflect this, or not? Master Thief Garrett 11:04, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Whereabouts is the title screen to which to you are refering to? I own the ALttP cartridge for GBA and while I admit I have never played the game due to lack of people to play it with, I am able to see the begining video and title screen, which just says Four Swords, the same as the other screens when booting up the cartridge and selecting which game to play.
However, even if there was another screen which uses the, I would stick with not having it, as everywhere else is just Four Swords and I believe that to be the official title, as it is listed as such on the official Zelda site, as well as a number of other places. Ian Moody 12:15, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)
OH! Yes I just checked in the game and you were right. Dunno what I was thinking of. As an aside, you can't always trust Nintendo's own site, in fact the only FS screenies there are of the beta, LOL! Master Thief Garrett 22:08, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, Nintendo aren't always what you would call consistent, heh. Didn't know that about the FS screens though, thanks for telling me. Ian Moody 09:53, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)

On the adjective "of or pertaining to Hyrule"

I have E-mailed Nintendo about the inconsistancy, and await their reply. Setokaiba 23:00, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Well as far as I am aware, there was never an official term for a while, and most, if not all, fans used Hyrulian, but then a little while ago Nintendo said that Hyrulean was the official and correct term, hence Hyrulean Adventure in Four Swords Adventures. If Nintendo don't reply a good person to ask for confirmation would be TSA, as he is probably the most well versed person when it comes to Zelda, at least amongst English speakers anyway. Ian Moody 23:11, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I got the reply:

Hello and thank you for contacting Nintendo, It is "Hyrulean." I hope this answers your question. Thank you for your e-mail.

So you were right. I'll post a note about it on the Hyrule talk page. Setokaiba 18:17, 4 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sister theory

Hey, I noticed you deleting some text regarding the theory that Link and Zelda are siblings. I think you're correct. I did some checking and his uncle in Zelda 3 does not say "is your sis..." (he actually says "Zelda is your... ..."), nor do they really seem to have similar features. Moreover, in Zelda 3, it specifically says that Zelda is of the bloodline of the seven wise men, while Link is the last of the bloodline of the Knights. I'm not sure where that stuff about their mother being the queen comes from - I don't even remember any of the games having a queen in it. If anyone contests this change I'll support you. I am curious what his uncle was talking about though. Deco 01:14, 3 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah while I have never played the SNES version of ALttP myself, I do have the GBA version, and have heard stuff from reliable sources, including GANNON-BANNED, about the sister thing. Basically Nintendo's translation was still fairly shoddy back then, but in the updated version is has been changed to something along the lines of "It is your destiny to save Zelda" which is a more accurate translation. As to the whole his mother being queen thing, I cannot remember anything about that being in the game, nor have I seen that theory anywhere else before. While it is possible that I have forgotten, I think it best to remove it unless evidence can be found of any such implication. Ian Moody 08:03, 3 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. Thanks for your support, and thinking about it, I have played the SNES version, but only in an emulation on my computer. Ian Moody 08:05, 3 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits in Fear & Respect seem to be driving me crazy. Why do you keep formatting the infobox from this to this?

Please leave a message on my user page for further discussion. • Thorpe • 17:43, 22 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Hero of Time

I beleive I made this clear. OoT is a prequal to The Legend of Zelda (original), Adventure of Link is a continuance of that. I beleive the Link in A Link to the Past is a descendant of the original, and I'm uncertain whether or not that is the same Link that appears in Link's Awakening or from OoT (original Link). Either way, Link is the Hero of Time, whether he is the original, or a descendant of the original. It's a sort of hereditary thing that spans across all time, hence the title "Hero of Time". Now, please stop reverting it needlessly. EreinionFile:RAHSymbol.JPG 04:06, Jun 7, 2005 (UTC)

I partially agree with Ereinion, as this page on the official Zelda site has all the games (excluding TWW and FSA) listed under the entry of "Hero of Time." Setokaiba 21:00, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Wikistress

Hello Ian Moody. I see you got a lot of wikistress. May I ask why? I do hope you don't leave wikipedia. Every time we lose a competent wikipedian, the idiot ratio gets a bit higher :-( Redwolf24 06:32, 13 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

WikiStress

Sorry about your Wikistress level. Maybe a barnstar could help you

Take care, D. J. Bracey (talk) 21:59, 4 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I noticed that you were trying to add the {{Accuracy}} tag to this article. I'm not 100% certain (granted, certain people do seem to have an agenda on this page) but I'd guess that you were reverted because you didn't explain your reasoning behind this on the talk page. --Kurt Shaped Box 06:31, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wikihug

Here is a Wikihug because I noticed your stress level was so high. If you're feeling stressed maybe it would be good to take a Wikibreak for a few days and come back refreshed and happy. :) ♥♥purplefeltangel 21:38, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn't you care for discussing the looks of this template at Template_talk:User opera? We've been making changes and I don't want to change back without discussing this with you first. ☢ Ҡieff 21:56, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Category deletion nomination

Hi, Ian. Just letting you know that I have nominated Category:Singles by record label and its child Category:Mute Records singles for deletion. Their CfD is here: Wikipedia:Categories_for_deletion#Singles_by_record_label I thought as the creator of one you might like to know. cheers. pfctdayelise 04:04, 13 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Peer review

This edit indicates that you reverted the peer review that I closed due to the large amounts of useful comments on elevating Majora's Mask. Is there a rule that states I have to wait for the peer review to be closed before switching the tag? If so, I did not know this, and therefore apologize for causing any ineffeciencies. —Hollow Wilerding 22:10, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Replied to on Hollow Wilerding's talk page.:
There is no rule that I am aware of, I merely thought it odd to list it as archived when the discussion was still open and available on Peer review. If you particularly want it to change it back feel free, though it might also be a good idea to remove it from the Peer review page. Also, while I'm here I'd like to congratulate you on the work you've done so far to the article. Comparing the mid-November version with the current incarnation it is miles better. — Ian Moody (talk) 23:14, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the article-elevation compliment, and I will leave the peer review listed at Wikipedia:Peer review until its session is complete. —Hollow Wilerding 23:17, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Firefox userbox

Thanks for letting me know about the userbox and inserting it into my page. I've now changed back to the official one as it no longer has the spacing issue. I'm not too happy with the globe image but it's better than the constant arguing I suppose. Thanks again. Jellypuzzle | Talk 15:56, 7 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Lunar Cry - Desiderata.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded, Image:Lunar Cry - Desiderata.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

You changed the Infobox... I'm just wondering why that is? You didn't say anything about it on the talk page. ---J.Smith 22:48, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits

Please don't mark content changes as minor like you did on the Game Boy Advance. Those edits are not minor. Jedi6-(need help?) 08:20, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They are reversions of edits by a persistant vandal, not content changes. — Ian Moody (talk) 08:22, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
While I agree that the categories should be removed it still shouldn't be marked as minor, see Wikipedia:Minor edit. Jedi6-(need help?) 08:50, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I got caught the same way. The bot sees this and goes to revert but before it can you had already dones so and it then listed you as the vandal. I removed the warning. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 16:31, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for bringing that bug to my attention. It should hopefully be fixed now. joshbuddytalk 19:47, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks for reverting the vandalism of my user page a few days ago by Oscara (talkcontribs). The user seems to blame me whenever his or her pages get deleted. I think I might have tagged one or two for deletion weeks ago, but nothing recently seeing as how I just came back from a wikibreak. Anyway, thanks again. --TheKoG (talk|contribs) 17:39, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ska-punk & Third Wave

These are very different things. Third Wave is a blanket term for the rise in popularity of Ska, which includes not only ska-punk but a revival of traditional ska, or the marriage of soul & r&b with ska that was popular in the States. Note how little The Aquabats and the Impossibles sound alike, or the nineties' Israelities and MU330. The Toasters are important to the Third Wave ska revival, but they don't play punk rock.

Back button bug found and fixed in custommainpage.js

In the case that comments on a user's talk page's subpages don't appear as a "You have new messages" indication---I just wanted you to know I have located and fixed a bug in the custommainpage.js script (I didn't change the code directly on your page however; feel free to do so yourself, of course). --Wernher 22:36, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Landofthelegend.net

What is your f*cking problem? How about NOT removing informative links because for some reason you think your own problems are more important then an informative article? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hyrule (talkcontribs) 17:25, 23 April 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Please stop adding linkspam to Zelda articles. Also please watch your tongue. — Ian Moody (talk) 17:32, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
How about answering what your problem is with lotl? Changing links to links with inferior information makes no sense. Hyrule 17:36, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that most of your edits to wikipedia seem to consist of adding links to landofthelegend.net, which resumably you have some affilication with. This is considered linkspam, ie adding a link to a site so people will go to it and increase your advertising revenue. Now some of these links add to the article, and should therefore be kept despite you adding them for personal gain, however several don't or are used to replace other links or more authorative sources, not to mention the fact you seem to like adding them to the top of the external links section so they are seen first. — Ian Moody (talk) 18:05, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You can either answer and discuss this or continue to waste everyone's time. My suggestion is to do the first. Hyrule 17:57, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
