Samuel Taylor Darling (born April 6, 1872, Harrison, New Jersey; died May 21, 1925, Beirut) was an American pathologist and bacteriologist who discovered the pathogen Histoplasma capsulatum in 1906.[1] He died in Beirut in a car accident together with British malariologist Norman Lothian.[2][3][4] The 'Darling Prize' for malaria research was established in his memory.[2]
