Situated west from Caen, in Calvados, France, Venoix long was an independent commune. It merged with Caen in 1952 when the development of the nearby city and the need for financially costly infrastructures made it necessary. Venoix is over 300 years old.

Its inhabitants still keep today a distinctly specific feeling of living in Venoix rather than in Caen.
