Estonia has started playing Rugby league in 2005. The national team's first ever match was against a Student Rugby League Chairmans Select XIII team on the 20th of August, 2005. The Estonian national side was drawn from the capital Tallinn and university stronghold, Tartu. The Estonian national side was defeated 70 points to 36.
