Dumontia contorta (S.G. Gmelin) Ruprecht [1]

The thallus grows from a discoid holdfast to a length of about 23 cms. The fronds branched irregularly but not densely. Branches hollow, twisted and dark reddish brown which bleach towards the tips, they clearly taper at their junction.[1]
