Welcome to my talk page.
Due to work and travel, I will not be online as much as normal until December 4, so please do not expect an instant reply to messages left here.

Hi Angela,

I'm from Afrikaans and also try to start growth at other South African languages. It seems you took up the issue of the National Language Services with User:Node_ue at User_talk:Node_ue#Re:Wikipedia-l: Banned from editing except on en. Could you be so kind as to let me know on my Afrikaans talk page about the outcome of whether or not those are copyios under South African law? Unfortunately we don't have the manpower of the en.wp and Internet connectivity isn't always equally available. If we can reuse the manpower spent here, it would be a nice bonus for us. Thanks for you work on Wikipedia. --Alias 12:36 (UTC)

You and Yours

I just finished listening - well done!
James F. (talk) 13:01, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Thanks. :) Angela.
Was this the segment about Cyber Crime? (Real Player not working through our firewall, so downloading Real Alternative out of total frustration) --Phil | Talk 13:48, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
No. It was the part about encyclopedias :) Angela.
What's all this then? Have I missed something? Apwoolrich 14:23, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
It was a short piece about Wikipedia on the You and Yours programme on BBC Radio 4 today. You can listen to it at [1] but you might need some sort of plugins. Angela. 14:42, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
Well, swope me, that's a different version of the main page than I got an hour ago: there was no mention of encyclopedias then :-( Now to find out how to play a RPM file… On the other hand I might be able to get in through the generic BBC player: where in the program is your bit? --Phil | Talk 15:02, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
It starts about 30 minutes in. But the link doesn't seem to be working now. Maybe this one will work instead. Angela. 15:13, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
Oh yes. Doesn't the lady sound hoopy :-) Did you actually get to meet Bamber? --Phil | Talk 18:33, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
What is hoopy? I didn't get to meet anyone. I was in the Ipswich studio and the others were in London and Manchester. It was weird just being put in a studio by myself :) Angela. 19:12, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
See hoopy. Was it actually live, then? --Phil | Talk 07:46, Nov 18, 2004 (UTC)
Yep, it was live. Angela. 17:54, Nov 18, 2004 (UTC)

Mosques

There seems to be a problem with one of the history links for the Mosque article. I was trying to revert the article, but when i try to edit an outdated article, the text of the article is displayed as a warning message. Could you check it out? Mosque History Item Cyrloc 15:39, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Symposium Rotterdam - Agenda in English

Hi Angela, Anthere, Jimbo,

I just translated the agenda proposal for the Rotterdam Symposium to English on m:Wikimedia meetup Rotterdam.

I don't know whether the board members feel invited to prepare their talk in the wiki medium, but in the event, I proposed m:Wikimedia meetup Rotterdam/Board members talk.

--Francis Schonken 09:10, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Thanks. If we manage to be organised, we'll put something there. I can't promise we will though. Angela. 17:54, Nov 18, 2004 (UTC)

Mediation Request

Hi Angela. Are you available for mediations at the moment? There is a request at Wikipedia:Requests for mediation#Users CheeseDreams, SIrubenstein and Amgine - I've been doing the preliminaries and you are currently listed as first choice for mediator. I know you have a lot on your plate, but perhaps you could have a look and see? Thanks -- sannse (talk) 22:49, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)

OK, thanks Angela - good luck with the job -- sannse (talk) 11:01, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)

CC Licensing

I added the categories that you have licensed some of your changes under to your Disclaimers and licenses page. When you left the message on my talk page, I fixed the problem that you mentioned, however, I noticed another glaringly wrong part: I only included "U.S. State", when I meant to say is "U.S. State, county, or city articles". A lot good my argument to open up the U.S. county and city articles was if I failed to include that in "Option #2". Then I noticed that you put option #2 on your disclaimer page (thank you!), but of course it doesn't help my original goal because it doesn't include the wide majority of the geographic articles! I wanted to let you know. -- Ram-Man 17:48, Nov 19, 2004 (UTC)

I've changed that now to say state, county, or city articles, but I've moved the categories to talk. I think they could be misleading if people see my name in a "public domain" category and assume all my edits are therefore public domain. Angela. 22:44, Nov 19, 2004 (UTC)
I considered that, but you are not the first person who has licenced various namespaces and edits differently. A good number of people do that (myself included). If you look at the category page itself there is a notice at the top of the page that states that many users do just that and that one should follow the links to get more detailed licensing information. Nevertheless, the talk page is fine, just so long as the categories are there! -- Ram-Man 22:48, Nov 19, 2004 (UTC)

Taff Vale Railway

I'm sorry, but you seem to have created two articles on the TVR! One is under T - the other under U ... ?

Peter Shearan

Sorry, I have no idea what you are talking about. I've never created an article on Taff Vale Railway and I don't understand what "the other under U" means. Angela. 13:05, Nov 21, 2004 (UTC)

Help with wiki code

Hi. I've recently set up my own wiki, but have been unable to find out how to edit the navigation pannel on the left. Is there any documentation anywhere about this? I will be greatful of any help you can give.

This is covered in the MediaWiki FAQ. See how do I add my own menu items? for example. If that doesn't help, a good place to ask is on the #mediawiki IRC channel, or the mediawiki-l mailing list. Hope that helps :) Angela. 22:10, Nov 21, 2004 (UTC)

Resign

As a sign of good faith, I ask you to resign before the arbitration elections. There is no need for you to continue abusing your authority, let someone else try fulfilling your obligations. Lirath Q. Pynnor
