About the School

The School was established in 1967 and is situated within easy reach of Knaphill, Bisley, West End, Brookwood, Pirbright and other surrounding areas. The school is currently classed as a Sports College. Staff involve themselves in a number of after school sporting activities (up to 91 per week) and the school has seen some success over the last few years.

Academic Information and History

The last Oftsed report was conducted shortly after former Head Teacher Mr Barnard left in 2001 and it praised the school for the progress it had made since the last inspection. Teaching occurs during one hour lessons with Physical Education lessons twice a week (more often for PE GCSE students) with extra Sport, PE and "enrichment" style activities, (in the form of after-school clubs).

Other Information

The school has a magazine called "WOM!" (Winston Official Magazine). It was founded in 2004. As of September 2006, four issues have been produced, each with its own Editor.

The majority of students who go on to further education will attend on of the four institutions: Woking College, Brooklands College, Godalming College or The Sixth Form College Farnborough.
