Biography
He was born in Olinda, he was son of Olindian Genebra Manelli Cavalcanti de Albuquerque and Felippe de Moura, Captain of Pernambuco. He was grandson of the master of engineering Filippo Cavalcanti and great-grandson of the colonial adminnstrator Jerónimo de Albuquerque.[1]
In 1622, he was a colonial governor of Cape Verde.[3][4] He succeeded Francisco de Moura who was either related or not related. He was succeeded by Manuel Afonso de Guerra.
In 1625, he commanded a fleet of ships from the Captaincy of Pernambuco which that joined with the Luso-Spanish Fleet during the Dutch Invasion of Brazil that kicked out the Dutch from Salvador de Bahia.
