Tony Speller
Antony Kirby Speller,[1] known as Tony Speller, (12 June 1929 – 15 February 2013) was a British Conservative politician.[2] On his second attempt, in the 1979 general election, he defeated former Liberal leader Jeremy Thorpe to become MP for North Devon, which effectively ended Thorpe's political career. Speller held the seat until 1992 when he lost to the Liberal Democrat Nick Harvey.
