GameDuell is a leading cross-platform social games community based in Berlin, Germany and San Francisco, USA.[1] The company offers social games services and more than 70 social casual games that are available on its own branded website, social networking sites such as Facebook and Google+, and mobile platforms such as Android and iOS.

History

GameDuell was founded in 2003 by Boris Wasmuth, Kai Bolik and Michael Kalkowski[2] with branch offices in Asia and San Francisco, and has now more than 180 employees worldwide.

Figures

According to AppData, as of February 2012, GameDuell games on Facebook had almost 4 million monthly active users.[3] GameDuell has over 70 million users including installs and currently offers: 7 mobile games on the iOS and 5 on the Android platforms,[4] 17 on the social network site Facebook and 60 on its own branded website. Games are currently available in 7 different languages on its branded website.[5]

Funding

The Company received over $17 million (€11 million) in funding from Wellington Partners in an effort to accelerate its expansion into other European countries and the United States. This was in addition to the earlier funding from Holtzbrinck Ventures and Burda Digital Ventures in 2004.[6]
