About the school

Liberty High School (AKA LHS) Is the coolest high school in frisco. We are a new school, and currently only have 9th and 10th grades. Learn more below. The coolest peeps you'll meet here are Mr. Jay-Z, Jackie "Vinegar" Chan, and Vini from the Rio!

Grades included

Liberty High School is currently composed of only 9th and 10th grade students, but will expand to include 11th grade students in the 2007-08 school year, and 12th grade students in 2008-09. Liberty is currently housed at a temporary location at the site of the future Fowler Middle School. The permanent Liberty campus is currently under construction in East Frisco and is expected to be complete in time for the 2007-08 school year. It is a great school, full of great students and teachers. The principal, Mr.Waldrip, is the best one out there. The new Liberty high school and campus are state-of-the art and offer a terrific high school experience for those students who have the opportunity to attend Liberty High School.

Marching Band

Liberty high school's RedHawk marching band had a very successful '06 marching season. The band is comprised of approximately 50 students with a 7 person drumline and a two person mellaphone section. They did the unthinkable for a small first year marching band. In Frisco March of Champions Marching Competition, hosted by Frisco High School, Liberty's Redhawk marching band placed 10th out of 24 in the preliminary competition. While placing in the top ten, they hoped to secure at least eigth place in finals. Overall, they placed 6th, jumping ahead four places. At Denton high schools competition, the Golden Triangle Classic, they competed in the preliminary competition, and placed 10th out of 22 bands. They were they only 1A school to secure a spot in finals with best in class, best percussion, and outstanding visual. While they came out 10th over all, they were grateful to make it to the finals. At UIL competition in Carrollton, Liberty got a Division 1 rating (the best). The following weekend they went to the UIL Area competition. At area, they made it to the finals and ultimately placed 10th over all in the area. The top 5 made it to state.

Misc

The student congress plays a major role in making new traditions at this new high school. The Forthcoming dance was a success with many attending this first dance in Liberty's history.

Academic Decathlon

The Liberty High School Academic Decathlon has had an AMAZING season this year. We topped out our region (followed closely by Wakeland), and we are currently ranked second among small schools. Updates will be posted after state (and hopefully nationals). We placed first in overall super quiz, first in super quiz relay, and first overall at regionals. we took 33 of 99 medals.
