Twinkle and page watching

I've been losing pages from my watchlist lately and I think it may have something to do with Twinkle. When you have a minute, could you look at my monobook and see if I've messed something up? John Reaves (talk) 20:36, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

At the moment watchRevertedPages will override your personal settings, I'll see if I can introduce a configure settings to define that. AzaToth 21:27, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Have updated the configuration now, see WP:TWINKLE AzaToth 00:41, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
AzaToth, this problem seems to still be occurring. Whenever I revert a page on my watchlist using twinkle, the page is removed from my watchlist. I see above where you say you updated the configuration; maybe I missed something. I'd appreciate any direction you can give me on this. Thanks, auburnpilot talk 10:59, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

I am using the TWINKLE script that you made (as I suppose) and it is magic! Thank you very much. --Meno25 21:48, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Twinkle cop

OK, I'll admit it: my little dude -was- really annoying. :) ...but twinkly. Yours is better. ;) - Denny 21:59, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Warning users using Twinkle

Hi AzaToth, I just installed the Twinkle user warning, and it works well in Firefox. However, I primarily use Safari to edit and when I put my cursor over the [1], [2], [3], [4], and [s], the window stretches very wide (I have to scroll over far past the edge of the screen), unlike in Firefox where the width is just that of the longest word in the column. I know you haven't tested this in Safari, but have any ideas where this might be coming from? If necessary, I can take screenshots. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 23:11, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yea, screenshot would be nice. AzaToth 20:42, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • I am encountering the exact same problem in Safari; furthermore, the CSD tab doesn't even show up for me in Safari (works perfect in firefox, though). Did he give you a screencap yet? Here is one that I made.
    • Hmm, I really don't know what the problem could be, probably it's safaris fault, as I don't have any 1000% width definitions anywhere. AzaToth 17:15, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Twinkle problem with DB-csd rationale I1

Should use template "Db-Redundantimage" instead of "Db-redundantimage". (Upper-case "R" on redundant.) RJASE1 Talk 17:12, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed (the other way around) AzaToth 17:46, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CSD criteria: undefined

CSD G8 shows as "undefined" on Opera 9.10. [1] Awyong J. M. Salleh 09:18, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure it wasn't just a temporary hickup?, have looked through the code, and found no inconsistency with G8. AzaToth 09:59, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I would not be surprised if it's something in Opera itself that's causing the problem. I'll do all my RC patrolling with Opera for this week and report anything strange to you. ;) Awyong J. M. Salleh 11:10, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Erm... after this (which I intended to be G11) I'm going to suppose that all the 'db (csd)' selections will cause "CSD undefined" to show up as the deletion reason in Opera. I'm sticking to db-reason for the time being. Awyong J. M. Salleh 11:14, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Db-reason works: example. Awyong J. M. Salleh 11:18, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It could be that opera disslikes objects in the format { 'foo': 'bar' } AzaToth 11:36, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Heve investigated it, and I think the problem lies inside SimpleWindow in morebits.js, thou I don't know exactly what the problem is, but it seems that it bails out on something, and thus sending a undefined value instead of the choosen value. AzaToth 12:24, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In case it helps, the G8 reason does correctly appear in the automatic pop-up to delete orphaned talk pages for articles that I chose to delete. Compare [2] and [3]. Awyong J. M. Salleh 05:08, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Think I have fixed that particular error, opera seemed not to like code like input.value = value, so I had to change that. There are still two errors in opera that emerge when speedy deletion, but they are only connected to the SimpleWindow, and seems not affect the functionality at all. Verified fixed: [4] Awyong J. M. Salleh 09:14, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your AIV report

Thank you for making a report in respect of Paperbackwriter06gms (talk · contribs · block log) on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Removing and reporting vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them again to the AIV noticeboard. Thanks. (The user has now been warned by Luna Santin, and has apparently stopped uploading porn.) Sandstein 23:10, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yet more TWINKLE praise

I see you are the creator of the TWINKLE script. Thank you very much for coding it; it's often quite a help. Sandstein 23:12, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Same here. Great Work! The db tagging is very useful. The only thing is often I want to tag with, {{db-band}}, {{db-club}}, {{db-corp}} {{:db-group}}, or {{db-web}} instead of just {{db-bio}} under A7 as listed here. I'd say the ones I use most are db-band and db-web. Could you possibly add them to the list? Thanks again for your work.. Danski14 03:02, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. AzaToth 05:09, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cool.. should come in handy.. and useful for newbies so they can see the proper criteria for the type of article. Danski14 18:30, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

About Wiki articles of MK: I hope this is were Im supposed to reply

Im really sorry, I just checked the message you sent me concerning my edits of Mortal Kombat articles. I apologize if what I edited didn’t help, I wasn’t intending to do any vandalize; I was just trying to help by adding important Mk info and facts, as well as a few pictures. I have added some other info in other characters pages, hopefully it all fits well under the rules of Wiki. I apologize if I did anything wrong, but I hope Im still allowed to edit mistakes and add information since I have contributed with lots of information that remains untouched in some of the pages. Thank you for your time AzaToth! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 200.112.193.3 (talk) 16:15, 20 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

No problem, I see now that the "blanking" was a revert of an misstaken edit by your part. AzaToth 19:50, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How to stop TWINKLE from adding articles to watchlist?

The title says it all, how do you stop TWINKLE from adding pages to my watchlist? User: Hdt83 | Talk/Chat 00:34, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Automated message to bot owners

As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:

Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.

Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 00:34, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Favor

Would you teach me how to modify my monobook to add a "my desk" link between my preferences and my watchlist, which would link to user:NYC JD/Desk? Thanks. - NYC JD make a motion 05:07, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers

Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my user page. Much appreciated. Will 10:55, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Twinkle on Opera

I'm using Opera 9.20 beta and notice that the tabs for Twinkle CSD deletion are no longer there. (Wasn't there either when I was using Opera 9.10.) What happened? Are you no longer supporting Opera? :( Awyong J. M. Salleh 13:21, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In my opera, they are there. .AzaToth 13:30, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Weird... when viewing your user talk page, I get the "report" tab but no "db (csd)" or "db (reason)". Might my monobook be the cause? I updated it then cleared the browser cache totally, pressed F5, but the db-tabs don't reappear. Awyong J. M. Salleh 13:52, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, could you block Tibbsy again? I just got him blanking Tonbridge School Averross (utc)

I would if I could, don't have that bit set on me, sorry. AzaToth 14:44, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AzaBot

Hi I noticed AzaBot seems not to have notified people of their nominated article this week. See Wikipedia talk:Article Creation and Improvement Drive#Lamest collaboration yet. Hope it can be fixed I think it makes a big difference. GameKeeper 22:51, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Forgot last week, sadly, the last week is too late now, as the templates have been updated, but I'll notify this weeks people now. AzaToth 22:56, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't vote for Rwandan Genocide

Sure, I rolled the ACID, but I didn't vote for the article. Your bot placed the message on my talk page that I helped choose the winner. Oh well... thanks anyway. Diez2 00:04, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, that's strange, perhaps you had made a comment or added your signature in the list. AzaToth 13:40, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TWINKLE - edit summaries and watching

I can't seem to get it to show nothing after the "reverted edits by user to...", that is, not say "TWINKLE". I tried to configure it by placing summaryAd  : " " , but it didn't work. Also, I'd rather not have anything added to my watchlist when reverting, is this possible? John Reaves (talk) 04:18, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TWINKLE with simple skin

Out of curiousity I've just tested TWINKLE with all available skins and these are the ones that work for sure with TWINKLE:

  1. Chick
  2. MySkin
  3. Monobook (of course)

Thanks for making something that isn't confined to monobook users only. :)

However, when using simple skin, there's an issue - when editing user talk pages, hovering over either the "1", "2", "3", or "4" warning tabs will cause only part of the relevant warnings list to appear, and the list flickers so fast it's unusable. Is there any way to fix it? Thanks in advance. Awyong J. M. Salleh 09:38, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
