Tomographic inversion plays a significant part in depth imaging in the seismic oil exploration industry. This should probably be mentioned briefly.

Move from "tomography" to "imaging"
I'm requesting this move since tomography is more of a medical term, and is unnecessarily jargon. Imaging is far more intuitive, and is more popular:
