Dan Lefcourt, portrayed by actor Chris Young, is a fictional character of the teen film Dance 'Til Dawn.

Dan Lefcourt is the geek of the school. His father thinks he is popular and puts on a lot of pressure on him. His hobby is astronomy.
Movie
Template:Spoil Dan first wants to buy a corsage for a fictional date at a store. He acts nervous and ends up buying a cactus.
He is then seen trying his outfit on for prom in his room. His father asks him if he heared from Maryville, but he says he isn't sure he applied and tells him he doesn't want to go to college. When his father asks him about his date, he tells him she is goodlooking. Truth is he can't find a date.
He soon goes to the cinema to avoid his father. There, he's watching the movie Them!. He there meets Shelley Sheridan. She asks him if he won't tell anyone and he will ignore her the rest of the evening.
When other people of school go to the cinema, Shelley hides under the chairs, but ends up being saved by him. She talks to him and reveals she didn't pay the limo for the entire night. He offers her a ride home, but she tells him that she can't go home because of the lie. When more people from school come to the cinema, she accepts his offer to ride with his car and flights immediately.
Meanwhile his father finds his corsage at home. He soon desides to drive to the prom to bring it to him. At prom, he's upset when he discovers Dan is not at prom.
They soon have an encounter with someone from school when they go to a drive-in. She flights again and makes clear that at every public place she knows someone. Dan tells her they can go to a restaurant downtown where they can go. It ends up being the same restaurant where Kevin is dining with his prom date Angela Strull. They soon flight again.
He brings her to a field where he likes to come and look at the stars. Shelley reveals she feels alone all the time. They then have a romantic connection. She takes off his glasses and sees how pretty he actually is. When his father arrives, they have to flight again.
After a drive, they stop at a place where teens come to make out (which they don't know yet when they park there). They talk and make clear they both don't know what to does with their lives. When they discover that it is a place where the teens come to make out, Shelley finds out that all the people from the prom are there. She asks Dan to do something and he kisses her. She doesn't stop him. After they make out, they fall asleep in the car.
When he brings her home, he is willing to accept that Shelley won't see him anymore afterwards. She says she's still hungry. Dan tells her the only place that is open is Hud's and they can't go there since the whole school is there.
They eventually go to Hud's together. Everyone is surprised, but Shelley isn't embarresed of him. She tells them that they are starting a relationship.
