Guilds?

Should the guild information be included? These seem to be player-run without anything to distinguish them from others which must exist. This will become especially problematic later, once the player base starts expanding. 206.45.164.115 03:31, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

When more information is released about guilds and player cities, yes, guild information should be included. At the moment, the specific guild information is scanty. Another problem is that the information is always changing with each development update. Hopefully, once the game is closer to launch, we can add more information to the article which is both in-depth and accurate. -- Flask 17:18, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The pre-beta guild listing is relevant as this game IS VERY guild oriented, with a major portion of the endgame content slanted toward GvG sieges, and city building.

The Clans [guilds] that are most prevelant both reflect a cross section of the community as it is currently, have been a MAJOR factor as to assisting dev request for lore and balancing input, and are now contributing to the beging of the second phase of beta (Technical Beta, after Friends and Family beta, and before Gameplay Beta, as stated by the devs).

Certainly this is be information that will need to be updated as time goes on, but the information listed specifically stayed away from too many specifics (and thus would be out of date more quickly) while giving a general feel for the types of people you will meet on the AoC forums RIGHT NOW, and therefore is very relevant.

Texas?

Why exactly is this an article on Texas?--SidiLemine 13:19, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

A bot added that tag, presumably because Robert E. Howard, the author of the Conan books was from Texas. It's a tenuous link though, so I've removed it. --Mako 22:06, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Collision detection

I removed collision detection again, because it *is* too obvious. If a game doesn't have collision detection, you would just fall through the world, without being stopped by the ground, walls, or other obstacles. I'm sure that games like World of Warcraft and Starwars Galaxies have collision detection.

Unless there's something really special about their collision detection, it shouldn't be in there, and there would be something special, please descibe what's so special about it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 195.110.28.247 (talk) 20:02, 5 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Neither Star Wars Galaxies nor World of Warcraft feature Age of Conan's particular type of collision detection on players or NPCs. In those other games, you can walk right through ("clip through") the bodies of other players without colliding... much like a ghost. Many contemporary MMOs do not feature collision detection on player bodies (or on weapons) which is why it is quite significant to note. When Age of Conan is released, you will understand just how important this extra "collision detection" is... especially in battles. You won't be able to "clip through" players who surround or block you. Indeed, group formations in battle will be able to "hem in" and "block" players from fleeing or advancing. You'll have to stand and fight. You will not be able to just "clip through" ("pass through") another enemy's body and run away, ala World of Warcraft. -- Flask 16:57, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Facts?

Whats with the "Facts" section, this is a poor way to word an encyclopedic article and even feels a little pretentious. Nothing is ever "fact", especially with a game that is yet to be released and could change at any moment. I'm going to change this to "features", far more appropriate and conventional for a game article. Mloren 01:39, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Class Information

Does anyone know the racial restrictions for each class? If they do, can they futher color code the class table accordingly? Thank you. --C. Raleigh 05:01, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll get right on it .K 02:39, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Multiplayer clarification

Is the multiplayer for this game only for online, or is it also offline?

Age of Conan will have both singleplayer and multiplayer compatibilities. The first part of the game is focused mainly on singleplayer, although it is possible to group up with other people once you have reached the city of Tortgua. But you can go to the inn to "sleep" which switches the game to nighttime; nighttime = singleplayer. Once you're level 20, you venture out of Tortgua into a bigger world and I'm not sure if you can do singleplayer out of Tortgua. By the way, it is stated that the singleplayer portion takes about 10 hours, more or less depending on time and commitment. .K 02:39, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
