P.Kesavadev[1](P.Kesava Dev) is a well known novelist and social reformist of modern Kerala. He lived almost 80 years(1904 to 1983) and his entire life was dedicated to the social and cultural development of Kerala state.He is remembered for his speeches, autobiographies, novels, dramas, short stories, films etc., Odayil ninnu, Nadi, Brandalayam, Ayalkar(Central Academi Award winning novel),Ethirppu(autobiography),Oru Sundariyude Athmakadha etc., are some among his 128 works.Kesavadev along with Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai and Vaikkom Muhammed Basheer are considered the exponents of progressive Malayalam Literature. His unfinished novel "Padicha Kallanmar" was recently rewritten and published by his wife Seethalekshmy dev.His only child is a famous diabetologist and a pioneer in telemedicine in diabetes care [Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev][2].
