Putting the cart before the horse

You need to prove the individual notability of each band/album (via non-trivial, independent, and reliable music reviews), and then you can create articles about their albums. Each band needs to explicitly meet WP:MUSIC. Wizrocklopedia.com, wizardrock.org, and other blog-like sources are not reliable, and collaborating with a notable band does not automatically bestow notability.-Wafulz 16:23, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Thhthefirsttask.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Thhthefirsttask.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:02, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Hpfan9374, though you uploaded Image:Lavenderbrownopenauditions.jpg with a fair use rationale and were unsure of the copyright status, I was wondering if you yourself took the picture. If so, no fair use rationale is needed, and it simplifies things quite a bit. However, if you found the picture online, could you please provide a link to where you found it? Thanks, Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 14:34, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Tupac beginnings.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Tupac beginnings.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:50, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It looks cool now, wish I came up with it first, nice job! I've just noticed, you put the US Now 25 (again) instead of the UK one, 4th time lucky? 79.75.235.244 09:55, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for those words of kindess and improvement. I have taken them into consideration and am currently placed the UK Now 25 cover back into the montage, again.. Hpfan9374 09:59, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

US Now 25 picture is STILL there!84.92.85.222 08:12, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hiya,

I have unfortunately had to move the above image collage into the article, and remove the template. The article still looks the same. Theres guidelines on template space, one of which prohibits its use for article content of this kind, I'm afraid. I hope the move is okay though :)

Image tagging for Image:Hpfan9374.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Hpfan9374.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Fair use rationale for Image:Hpfan9374.png

Image:Hpfan9374.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Hpfan9374.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Hpfan9374.gif. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Hpfan9374.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Hpfan9374.png.

A tag has been placed on The Winner's Journey (Natalie Gauci album) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Wzrockepclublogo.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Wzrockepclublogo.gif.

Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:00, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I won't be able to assist with any copy editing of Harry and the Potters as I'm going on a Wikibreak - also known as Christmas. Good luck with the work you are putting into the article. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast 05:36, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm taking a break from my wikibreak and will do a large copy edit tomorrow. I will also try to start on Draco and the Malfoys and head to GA. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 01:38, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Copyeditor's Barnstar! Thank you. I just logged on a few minutes ago to work on the next section. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 00:06, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not all that fond of Wiki Projects because they take an awful lot of effort to maintain. They can be good if there is active participation but most don't work out. See the list of Inactive projects which is long and has quite a few projects which you'd think would be popular. See for example Wikipedia:WikiProject Narnia, Wikipedia:WikiProject Lemony Snicket, Wikipedia:WikiProject Film Music, and Wikipedia:WikiProject Emo music. All of these should have a base of active editors interested and they do on individual articles. The editors just don't maintain the project. I think it would be better to work on the individual articles with nav boxes between them than work on a portal / project that will be too difficult to maintain. I've started work on the revisions. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 23:25, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Draco and the Malfoys is going in the right direction. I left a section on the talk page that should be put back into the article as sentences somewhere: i.e. more than copy and paste. I'm not sure where. I'm signing off for several hours. I'll continue on with Harry and the Potters on my return. Sorry to talk down the project idea but it is a lot of work to end up seeing it AfD. Note that one of the inactive projects barely survived a Deletion debate. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 23:50, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Real life barnstar

Thanks, I do like the transparent version better, so the template uses that now. --TexasDex 15:43, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:The_Tales_of_Beedle_the_Bard_Front_Cover.PNG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 16:34, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
