Hello

Well, thank you for the welcoming message. Wikipedia has helped me through my homeschooling on to becoming a journalist, and has even helped me as a journalist in one way or another. I figured 'why not' :) it was nice to meet you.

Prank message

Please note the following, at WP:USER: The Wikipedia community generally frowns upon simulating the MediaWiki interface, and it should be avoided except when necessary for testing purposes. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 20:08, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:GWB

I've responded on my talk page. Please also take not of my comment regarding your signature. With three images, code that stretches over 5 lines, and size 3 font, it is quite contrary to our signature guidelines. - auburnpilot talk 21:50, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Homeschooling project

Okay, I see that you put a box on my user page. So . . . what do we do? What does it mean to be a member of a project? Are there tasks to be done? I know nothing. You're almost a novice yourself. Can you provide guidance? Unschool (talk) 01:47, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, basically when this thing gets started what we'll be doing is working together on articles related to Homeschooling. As Wikipedia puts it, a WikiProject is:

"a collection of pages devoted to the management of a specific topic or family of topics within Wikipedia; and, simultaneously, a group of editors that use said pages to collaborate on encyclopedic work. It is not a place to write encyclopedia articles directly, but a resource to help coordinate and organize article writing and editing. The attached talk pages are a convenient forum for those interested in a particular project."

So say in our case, you are researching a particular aspect of Homeschooling on Wikipedia (a curriculum, etc.), and find that Wikipedia does not have an article on it. As a member of the project, you can let the other users in the group know about it. If another person in the project knows more about that subject, together we can work on it, using the discussion page of the WikiProject.

Wagon style wheel

Hi, the article i am doing is about a wheel style made for automobiles not actual wagons. They had the nickname "wagon wheels" because of the spoke design. They were popular on 4x4 trucks in the 70s and 80s. If you ever watched the tv series The Fall Guy, they were on the pickup truck that was featured in every episode.Jwess (talk) 21:50, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ok

Sorry I'm new to this! Thanks for the tip, that is alot easier! Jwess (talk) 22:04, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's ok. I was new to this one day, too. Tell me if you would like me to adopt you through Adopt-a-User. EvanStalk |sign here 22:09, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you have associated yourself with WikiProject North Carolina in one way or another and I wanted to say Hi. I have been doing a bit of work on the project and wanted to know if you were still interested. One of the major things that we need help with is article assessment. If you go to NC Article Grading and Ranking you will see that as of 12-25-2007 we have over 2,900 articles that are either unassessed and/or have not been tagged with importance. If you are interested in remaining a part of WikiProject North Carolina, please consider placing the userbox {{User WikiProject North Carolina}} if you have not already done so that others will know that you are a part of this Project as well as ensuring that you are listed on the WP North Carolina Participants. If you are no longer interested in participating in the project, please strike through your name on the WP North Carolina Participant list and/or remove the WikiProject NC Userbox! If you have any questions, please let me know!Rob110178 (talk) 22:56, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Where can I help with the assessment these articles? EvanStalk |sign here 22:21, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SSP

On your SSP report, granted they are not new users and edit sequentially, but where's this disruption/vio of WP:SOCK, aside from that? RlevseTalk 01:42, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It would have been voter fraud. And just as an update — I filed for checkuser and all three of the accounts MaidService (talk · contribs), ThaCleaningLady (talk · contribs), and BombBuilder (talk · contribs) were confirmed as well as three other accounts as stated at the checkuser page. All were blocked. EvanStalk |sign here 21:40, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There might be some who point out that it's inappropriate to advocate for particular candidates on your user page. Just thought you should know. ++Lar: t/c 01:05, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe you should check out this page, and take a look at 'What Links Here' for a given userbox. DiligentTerriertalk |sign here 20:19, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
