Thomas Lovat is a former professional football coach who finished his career with the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League. He spent 24 years coaching in the NFL.

Tom coached for a total of 41 year starting in Hayward, California as an assistant football coach. After that he moved to Utah, there he became the defensive line coach in 1967. Next he went to Idaho State (1968-70) coaching the defensive secondary and offensive line. Then he moved on to Canada as the defensive coordinator for the Ottawa Rough Riders (1971), and then went back to the University of Utah as an assistant from 1972-73; becoming the head coach 1974-76.

Next he coached at Stanford University from 1977-79 with Bill Walsh. Then he was hired by Bart Starr at Green Bay as the assistant offensive line coach in 1980; and then to St. Louis Cardinals under Jim Hanifan from 1981-84, as line coach. Then he coached the Indianapolis Colts 1985-88; and back to the Cardinals when the team moved to Phoenix, coaching under Joe Bugel, as his line coach from 1990-91. Then he was hired by Mike Holmgren with the Packers from 1992-98,and finished his career with the Seattle Seahawks in 2003, finishing 12 years coaching for Holmgren.

Tom was an assistant coach for the Super Bowl XXXI Champion Green Bay Packers.
