Disputed fair use rationale for Image:GTAIV Broker.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:GTAIV Broker.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 23:21, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:GTAIV Broker.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:GTAIV Broker.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the image can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[Talk:Image:GTAIV Broker.jpg|the article's talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Orphaned non-free image (Image:GTAIV Broker.jpg)

⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:GTAIV Broker.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 04:55, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

comment move

Thanks for moving my comment over to the subpage. That stupid thread moves so fast that everyoone's hitting edit conflicts, I think. ThuranX (talk) 15:20, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. But it is getting really complicated. I saw your comment there and thought it looked out of place, so I checked the history and moved it for you. Hopefully things will be a little easier on that subpage though, whoever it was that made it. .:Alex:. 15:23, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request

Neil, would you mind if I changed the first sentence of Betacommand's warning with this template, and have the rest of your comment underneath? It just seems more formal that way. .:Alex:. 16:17, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Alex. I would rather you didn't - see WP:Do not template the regulars. It's not policy, but it is sensible. A personally written warning is much less patronising. The templates are great for new editors or vandals or whatever, but are not advisable for long-term contributors. Hope that makes sense. Neıl 17:30, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GTA character list

Hi - apologies, I didn't see that archive discussion page. Since six pictures is right on the borderline of fair-use overuse, I'm happy to let them stay. Cheers, Black Kite 09:30, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry about it. I just wanted to make sure that that particular incident never happens again. It wasn't pretty as you can see... .:Alex:. 09:31, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:User:.:Alex:./Secretbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Reporting Vandilism

Hi, I'm a bit of a new user and was just wondering about vandalism. I found some on the Sunset Blvd article, and reverted it back to the previous version. Is that all I need to do? Thanks. --Tyler Gothier (talk) 03:38, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah that's all that's needed. Although if they persist in vandalising pages you can warn them and if they persist further then report them to administrators. See Wikipedia:Vandalism if you need more information. .:Alex:. 09:13, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GTA Website section

Hi.

I undid your edit on GTA IV where you removed the website information. It was part of the Promotion section and therefore i think it was relevant and encyclopaedic. Please discuss with me on the GTA IV talk page if you want. :) ChimpanzeeUK (talk) 12:20, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
