Failed GA

This article is a long way short of GA standards

  • Lead:The lead is far too short for such an article, a lead needs to summarise the article and should be about 4-5 times as long as it currently is
  • Please wikilink dates and years
  • The article has a uniform lack of refs. Some refs are just put in as external references without any filled in details. Please see a city FA like Bangalore and use {{cite web}} and {{cite news}} with the dates, publishers, authors and names of the sites that you reference
  • There are many MOS violations. section headers should not be all caps unless they are proper nouns, so "Hanford's Chinese community" is correct. Community should not be capped
  • Many short one-1.5 line sentences should be integrated elsewhere into a proper paragraph
  • This is especially prevalent in the history section
  • The name of the first teacher proably isnt required, but that's a minor issue.
  • History is unusual in that it is undue weight and surprisingly, one of the few times on Wikipedia where it is biased towards the historic stuff. Almost all the history is pre 1900
  • Economy and demographics section needs refs
  • Transportation needs to be prosified, instead of dot points
  • You'll need a ref for the Arsenic stuff, since we don't want a law suit from the city council for saying that they are life threatening
  • Utilities has many short setnences and many 1 line paras.
  • Ditto for education
  • "The jewel of the Clark Center" pov statement
  • opening hours of the various attractions should not be listed else it sounds like advertising
  • Sites of interest need to be prosified and come imagese need to be removed because we usually should not have pictures on both sides of a section of prose
  • Notable residents section should not be there.

Is the Kings River a naturally occurring water way for Hanford?

In the article the Japanese Art Center is mentioned as being a part of the city of Hanford. Yet, the Japanese Art Center is located near Guernsey/Lakeside just north of the intersection of 10th Avenue and Jersey Avenue. The Hanford 93230 zip code number is assigned to the Japanese Art Center. The inconsistency is that the Kings River is not considered a natural watercourse for Hanford, as stated in the article. The article asserts that, "The only natural watercourse is the Mussel Slough." In contrast to this assumption there is property that uses the 93230 Hanford zip code adjacent to the Kings River. These facts force the reader to consider whether the Japanese Art Center should be considered part of the article, but if so, why shouldn't the Kings River, and its storied history within close proximity to the Kingston Bridge, Kingston Cemetery, and the community of Hardwick, be included as a naturally occurring waterway in the article?

For further thought there is the issue of exclusion in terms of the relationship between the communities of Grangeville, Armona, Home Garden and the article's central focus of Hanford. These communities use the same Hanford Zip Code.
